Tearfund Nigeria is looking for a suitable indigene of Oyo state candidate to fill in the position of Office Assistant to be based in Ibadan. Details of the position are as follows:
Job title: Office Assistant – Strengthening Women Economic Empowerment Project (SWEEP)
Salary: NGN 3,992,498.00 (Gross per annum)
Location: Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria
Hours: Full time; 40hrs/week
Contract length: 1 year
This is a local national package; applicants should have permission to work in Nigeria.
The Office Assistant will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness, and maintenance of good hygiene and general Standard sanitary condition in and around the Ibadan office.
The role holder will also support all logistics tasks in Ibadan office such as driving, maintenance and safety of Tearfund vehicle. He ensures all vehicles are kept in excellent mechanical and technical condition through regular service and maintenance. Manages vehicle logs and ensures all Tearfund vehicle movement is properly logged and reported on at the end of each month. He ensures all staff vehicles used on Tearfund work have appropriate movement log and that such movements have been duly authorised by the Country Director or designate. To drive Tearfund vehicles safely, transporting people and cargo, keeping all vehicles in good condition and running well.
He ensures that all vehicles are fitted with security systems and liaises with the Logistics Manager to achieve total vehicle/fleet security. Assist the Logistics Officer to maintain contact with the dispatch team or team member to ensure that he or she is made aware of the delivery or transport situation.
The successful candidate will have:
- Completion of secondary school or College certificate in any field
- At least 1-year experience in cleaning and sanitary work.
- At least 3 years’ experience in driving with a valid driver’s licence
- At least 1 year experience in planning and coordinating logistic activities, including transportation, warehousing and inventory management
- Proven experience in the following areas
- Logistics
- Supporting project implementation and management
- Oral and written proficiency in the primary working local language (Yoruba)
- Fluent and competent in written and spoken English
- Able to prioritise.
- Ability to lead and facilitate team prayer and Bible studies
- Ability and commitment to apply biblical principles prayerfully within all aspects of the role
- Health and Safety at work
- Good organisational and scheduling skills
- Computer literate – experience of MS Word, Excel
- Ability to communicate confidently and comfortably about own personal faith
- An understanding of Christian relief and development issues
- Secretarial/administrative qualifications
- Development work with Christian organisations
- General office management
- General house maintenance ability
- Able to be creative
